The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will hold a meeting tomorrow at the Auqaf Hall Peshawar to observe the moon of Ramadan.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, will Chair the meeting.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has expressed the possibility of the first fast being on Sunday.
According to astronomers, the crescent sighting is not possible on the evening of Friday, February 28, as the moon’s age at sunset on Friday will be less than 14 hours.
The moon’s age for sighting should be more than 19 hours. Astronomers state that the moon’s angular distance from the sun should be at least 10 degrees, but it will only be 5 degrees.
The gap between sunset and moonrise should be at least 40 minutes; however, it will be 30 minutes between Quetta and Jiwani and 29 minutes in other areas.
Due to these conditions, the moon will not be visible to the naked eye or even through a telescope.
It should be noted that according to religious affairs, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been called in Peshawar on 29 Shaban 28 February to see the moon of the month of Ramadan.
Chairman of the Central Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.
The spokesperson says that the zonal Committees will meet at their respective places, and the meeting of the zonal committee in Islamabad will be held in the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The final announcement on whether the moon will be sighted or not will be made by the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
