After several celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Kajol, Rashmika Mandanna, Nora Fatehi, and others fell prey to the deepfake trend, a video of Ranveer Singh endorsing a political party surfaced online.
Today, on April 19, Ranveer finally addressed his Deepfake video. He took to his Instagram story to share a message, cautioning everyone to steer clear of it.
Sharing a post on his Instagram account, Ranveer Singh, who recently became a target of Deepfake AI, responded to the fake video promoting a political party. In his Instagram Story, he wrote in capital letters, “Beware of Deepfake, friends” along with a skull emoji.
The original footage of the actor used for AI manipulation is from his recent visit to Varanasi, where he shared his experiences. He recently walked the ramp with Kriti Sanon for designer Manish Malhotra’s fashion show at Varanasi’s Namo Ghat.
The AI-generated video of the Bajirao Mastani actor endorsing a political party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections sparked outrage among his fans.
Meanwhile, addressing more victims of AI, Aamir Khan also fell prey to such manipulation. According to an official statement from the actor’s spokesperson, Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. The statement emphasized his dedication to raising public awareness through Election Commission campaigns for various past elections.
In the 31-second video, Aamir Khan can be heard stating that every Indian citizen is a ‘Lakhpati,’ while the end frame displays an image of the Congress party symbol with a text urging to ‘Vote For Nyay, Vote For Congress.’
Ranveer has an exciting lineup of projects in the works. He is gearing up for the release of ‘Singham Again,’ which also features Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others. Additionally, Ranveer is set to star in ‘Don 3’ alongside Kiara Advani.
