The Green Pakistan Initiative officially commenced in Cholistan desert aimed to revolutionize farming practices in Punjab on Saturday.
The vision behind the initiative is to offer comprehensive support to local farmers.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir inaugurated the Green Punjab initiative. Launching Ceremony was also attended by Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Musadiq Malik.
Key features of the Green Pakistan initiative will be the launch of Green Mall and service company, development of smart Agri Farm, and creation of facility center.
High quality seeds will be made available to farmers with the launch of Green Mall.
Furthermore, pesticides and fertilizers will be directly provided to their doors step. All the stuff will be accessible to the farmers at lower rates.
Moreover, the program will offer reasonable rent options for agricultural machinery including tractors and drones.
Additionally, CM launched a 5000-acre smart farm. The form will be provided with modern farming techniques and will promote higher yield with lower price.
Meanwhile the research center will offer soil testing with advanced laboratory service. The center will serve as epicenter for agricultural education.
CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz labelled it as project that will bring agricultural revolution in Punjab. Land Allotment letters to children of martyrs were also distributed by her.
Army chief also talked to the attendees on the occasion. He said Punjab will become the powerhouse of agriculture.
He also commended Leadership’s role in the progress of Punjab.
Army chief reiterated further that the institution will continue to support country’s economic progress.
