The Punjab government announced a few months ago that free laptops will be provided to deserving students under the Chief Minister Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025.
Program Details:
Under this scheme, the government has planned to distribute 50,000 modern laptops to intelligent students. 2,000 laptops will be given on an annual basis.
Application Procedure
Students do not need to apply online for the Chief Minister Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025. The educational institutions themselves will compile the data of eligible students.
The verified data will be sent to the Punjab Higher Education Commission (HEC), which will release the final list of selected students.
Laptop Distribution Timeline:
Registration: To begin in February 2025
Distribution: Expected in April or May 2025 after Ramadan
Earlier this month, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz confirmed that the first batch of laptops has reached Pakistan.
Under the Chief Minister Laptop Program, 13th-generation Core i7 laptops will be provided to students.
Minority students and students who perform well in secondary and higher secondary school examinations will also be given laptops to promote research and education.
Laptop Distribution Details:
- 20,000 laptops for university students
- 14,000 laptops for college students
- 4,000 laptops for technical and agricultural college students
- 2,000 laptops for medical and dental college students
- Students from South Punjab will be given 32% of the total laptops.
Eligible Fields:
Students studying in the fields of Computer Science, Medicine, Engineering, Science, Social Sciences, Business, Languages, Veterinary Medicine, and Agriculture are eligible for this scheme.
