Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari was involved in a car accident on Wednesday but remained unharmed. The incident occurred on Canal Road in Lahore as she was en route to Punjab University for an event.
According to reports, three vehicles, including the minister’s car, were involved in the collision near the Jail Road underpass. The accident happened when a car ahead of Bukhari suddenly braked, causing a chain reaction between the vehicles.
Fortunately, the minister was not injured in the accident.
Earlier in the day, Bukhari had spoken out about the growing issue of deepfake videos being used to damage the reputations of women in Pakistan.
She noted the rising prevalence of these manipulated videos, which use AI technology to alter images, audio, and videos, creating misleading content. Bukhari, who herself has been targeted by such a video aimed at discrediting her, discussed the matter in an interview, stressing the importance of addressing this growing challenge.
