The Punjab government has declared the plan to buy 79 opulent cars for security escorts, parliamentary secretaries, and ministers. Strengthening the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) transport pool is the primary goal of this Rs. 612.475 million spending.
The ACS provided a briefing to the government’s Standing Committee on Finance & Development about the importance of these vehicles. It was clarified that twenty of the 29 parliamentary secretaries had previously received official automobiles upon their appointment.
Vehicles for the remaining nine will be delivered shortly, and additional are set aside for possible future appointments.
Considering the state of peace and order at the moment, 30 Toyota Hilux trucks will also be bought to serve as security escorts for provincial ministers.
The administration is also getting ready for the October Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting. To accommodate visiting guests, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ordered 15 luxurious and armored automobiles.
Two Toyota Fortuners and fifteen Toyota Corolla Altis cars are required to ensure that protocol tasks are carried out without a hitch throughout the event, the ACS informed the committee.
Better protocol services for forthcoming high-profile events will be provided by this acquisition, which is anticipated to help the province’s operational demands.
