The Punjab government imposed a ban on the entry of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur into province,.said the media reports on Friday.
The provincial government decided not to allow Ali Amin Gandapur to protest or to lead any protest in any area of the province.
The step was taken at the moment when the PTI was going to hold rally in Rawalpindi.
According to media reports, the Punjab Home department confirmed that a ban was placed on Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur from entering Punjab to protest.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, will not be able to hold protests anywhere in Punjab. Meanwhile, in anticipation of a possible PTI protest, the Punjab government has also imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi for two days. The provincial government has banned all kinds of political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, protests, and similar activities in Rawalpindi. The Punjab Home Department has issued a notification regarding the enforcement of Section 144 and has also sent a request to the federal government for the deployment of Rangers.
The notification states that Section 144 will also be enforced in Rawalpindi Division concerning the possession and display of weapons, with only law enforcement officials exempted from the ban. The restrictions will be in effect on Saturday, September 28, and Sunday, September 29, across the districts of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal. According to the Punjab Home Department, six companies of Rangers will be deployed in Rawalpindi and Attock on the recommendation of the district administration, as there is a fear of armed miscreants arriving in Rawalpindi. Section 144 has been imposed to maintain law and order and protect lives and property.
On the other hand, PTI has devised a strategy for tomorrow’s protest at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi. According to sourcs, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur will lead the protest. PTI leadership from Islamabad will head to Liaquat Bagh in convoys,PTI workers have been directed to protest whereever they could reach in case of closure of the roads.
The PTI lawyers will provide the legal assistance. The party leaders have also been directed to make another plan if they find closure of roads to reach the decided venue.
