The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally held in Lahore came to a close as the party wrapped up its event within the allocated time frame.
The thousands of people including the women from different areas reached Kahna to take part in the rally. The PTI top leadership including Barrister Gohar Khan, Salman Akram Raja, Sardar Latif Khosa and others.
KPK Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reached Lahore but he could not reach the rally venue as the rally was already concluded.
As the scheduled time ended, the sound system and lights at the venue were switched off by the event’s DJ which prompted the participants to start dispersing. The police reached the stage and got it clear soon as deadline concluded.
The Punjab government had granted PTI permission to hold the rally at the Kahna Cattle Market, with the district administration setting a time limit from 3:00 pm to 6:00pm.
Despite the brief duration, the PTI supporters arrived in large numbers from various cities. The roads were blocked at various points with heavy containers while the internet was also slowed down on the rally day.
The central convoy from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, reached the Kala Shah Kaku interchange, signaling the party’s commitment to the event.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was accused of using public resources for the rally. The reports suggested that rescue vehicles and cranes accompanied the PTI convoy from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Lahore, raising concerns about the misuse of state resources.
An agreement between PTI and the Lahore district administration imposed strict conditions on the rally. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was required to issue an apology for a speech he delivered in Islamabad on September 8, which had raised concerns within official circles.
The agreement further stated that no slogans or speeches against state institutions would be made during the rally.
Besides it, the broadcast of any audio or video messages from proclaimed offenders or criminals was strictly prohibited, ensuring the rally adhered to legal boundaries.
