The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates led election rallies in different cities on Sunday despite police crackdown on its workers.
Rallies were taken out on the call of Imran Khan, the founder chairman of the PTI, in almost all areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi, Lahore and other cities of Punjab.
The police have arrested at least 25 workers of the PTI during a rally in Karachi’s Teen Talwar. The party spokesperson said the KP police also arrested dozens of workers in Tank.
Ali Amin Gandapur made an audio address to the rally in D.I Khan. PTI leader Sher Afzal Marvat led the rally in the D.G Khan. A large number of workers and supporters attended and shouted slogans in favour of Imran Khan, the former prime minister who is currently in jail.
Police clashed with PTI women workers and made several arrests in Lahore Liberty Chowk, according to social media reports. The Local televisions have not given coverage to the PTI’s electioneering.
