Barrister Gohar, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and other important party officials met with former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday in Adiala Jail.
Barrister Gohar, along by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) Information Advisor Barrister Saif and PTI leader Ali Mohammad Khan, met with the imprisoned party founder.
The PTI demonstration in Islamabad is the backdrop for the meeting.
According to sources, the meeting’s objectives were to inform Imran Khan of the most recent events surrounding the demonstration in Islamabad and to get his opinion on the subject.
Barrister Gohar stressed in a statement following the meeting how crucial it is to update Imran Khan on party policy while he is incarcerated.
Party officials are keen to make sure Imran Khan is actively involved in determining the strategy for the demonstration, which is anticipated to be a significant occasion in the capital.
Additionally, as they crossed Punjab on their approach to Islamabad, sizable convoys of PTI supporters, led by opposition leader Omar Ayub and K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, were subjected to heavy tear gas bombardment by law enforcement.
After leaving Swabi, the convoys made their way gradually into Punjabi territory, but they encountered police opposition close to the Attock Bridge, Chach Interchange, and Ghazi Barotha Canal. Officers there deployed a lot of tear gas to scatter PTI supporters.
Before leaving Swabi, the Chief Minister gave a brief speech to the throng in which he exhorted party members to go, saying, “We must keep moving and not turn away until Imran Khan is released.” He then urged supporters to “prepare, as we will need to deal with further resistance forward” during a brief stop in Ghazi.
