Responding to PTI demands, Government’s spokesperson Senator Irfan Siddiqui stated he has not prepared any response.
“The subcommittee which is going to draft the response hasn’t met yet” he said. He added, “coalition partners are still talking to each other”.
He said that no decision has been made on the judicial commission due to the complexity of the law.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has yet again presented his case for judicial commission establishment.
He added it could be well done by paying attention to current Indian judiciary- enquiry of Babri Masjid case.
Gohar Ali even went to the point of threatening the future talks which can be nullified by not meeting within a week while critically criticizing the negotiation inefficiency where he said dialogue should seriously be carried out.
PTI spokesman Hamid Raza dismissed any move to delay the fulfillment of the demands.
He reiterated that January 31 is the deadline to finalize the negotiation process.
Raza also condemned reports claiming that the government was not ready for the judicial commission demand.
He added that pending cases in court should not bring a halt to the judicial commission.
Senator Siddiqui reiterated that these media reports regarding the response of the government are baseless.
He confirmed that the sub-committee would meet soon, adding on the importance of consulting the coalition partners.
He had suggested Barrister Gohar should join the negotiation team of opposition, elaborating his leadership role to ensure successful talks.
As the negotiation deadline approaches, the two parties are still adamant.
After consulting with the leadership, there could be a fourth round of negotiations after January 27.
Siddiqui said that he was sure the differences would be resolved and that the demands by the opposition would be fulfilled.
