The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political committee has announced a protest at D-Chowk in the federal capital, Islamabad, on October 15.
According to a spokesperson, protests scheduled in Punjab districts have been canceled in light of the upcoming demonstration at D-Chowk.
The spokesperson stated that the rulers, whom they accuse of stealing the mandate, do not seem willing to abandon their oppression and brutality.
On the other hand, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will proceed smoothly, and that disruptive elements will not be given the opportunity to create obstacles. He added that they are prepared to welcome the guests.
He noted that heads of state from 12 countries are coming under the SCO, which will enhance Pakistan’s respect and recognition on an international level, and that hosting the SCO summit is an honor for Pakistan.
The federal minister urged those with conspiratorial mindsets to stay home and find peace, assuring that security arrangements are complete, with the military, Rangers, and police deployed.
It is important to note that the SCO summit will take place in Islamabad on October 15 and 16, with leaders and representatives from countries including China, Russia, and India in attendance.
The military has been deployed in Islamabad for the security of the SCO meeting and will remain until October 17.
