PTI has announced fresh strategy for protest rallies at Minar-e-Pakistan and D-Chowk Islamabad, creating challenge for the government.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leaders asked party voters and supporters to hold protest rallies in all major cities.
However, Islamabad and Lahore would remain their prime focus.
“I request PTI workers from north and south Punjab to reach Islamabad”, PTI information secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said in a video message.
Former president Dr. Arif Alvi has also appealed to the PTI workers to hold protest in Karachi and the other parts of the country.
MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram advised the party workers from central Punjab and Lahore to reach at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday.
PTI fresh strategy for protest demonstrations has created a major challenge for the government as it vowed to stop them from reaching Islamabad and Lahore.
At a time when KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur convoy has almost reached at the door of the federal capital, the government is planning to stop it from reaching D-Chowk.
Police and law enforcement agencies have placed barriers at major routes leading to Lahore and Islamabad. The government has also deployed army for the security of Islamabad.
In Lahore, police have placed barriers and hurdles at Liberty Chowk, Jail road, Mall road, Thokar bypass, Babusabu motorways interchange and other spots.
The security agencies have also blocked roads by placing containers at GT road inside Islamabad and motorways, according to reports.
The hurdles and hinderances at routes are creating problems for the commoners and commuters. Heavy police contingents are guarding these hurdles, restricting movements.
Resultantly, Lahore is presenting deserted look and city routes are almost without traffic.
