Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has scheduled a core committee meeting for 10 PM tonight.
Sources indicate that the meeting will focus extensively on the decision regarding the Al-Qadir Trust case. Discussions will also cover negotiation strategies and the party’s future course of action.
It should be remembered that yesterday the accountability court sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years in prison and Bushra Bibi to 7 years in prison in the 190 million pound case.
Bushra Bibi was arrested from the courtroom after the verdict was announced after 30 days.
According to the accountability court’s decision, the Al-Qadir Trust was given under government control, while the Al-Qadir University was illegally confiscated by the government.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 million on the PTI founder, failing which he will have to serve another 6 months in prison.
Similarly, his wife Bushra Bibi has been imposed a fine of Rs 500,000, failing which she will have to serve another 3 months in prison.
