PTI activist Sanam Javed rearrested

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed from Central Jail Gujranwala.
Saman has been arrested for the third time. According to the details, the FIA team arrived at the jail and took Sanam Javed into custody, despite the LHC earlier ordered for her release.
She is facing several cases including Zaman Town vandalism, PML-N house fire, Race-course police station case, and others after the May 9 riots were triggered across Pakistan and after the PTI’s founder former prime minister Imran Khan was arrested from Islamabad High Court premises. The details of her arrest are not yet known but important to mention here is the PTI’s former MNA Aalia Hamza and Sanam in a new May 9 riots following their release from Kot Lakhpat jail. Both women were earlier arrested in a case of torching a police station in Mianwali. After their bail in this case, they were arrested in a case in Gujranwala. The LHC on Friday ordered the immediate release of Sanam from jail in connection with the Gujranwala case. The court issued a written order on Sanam’s petition challenging her arrest.
A two-member bench, led by Justice Asjad Javed Gharal of the LHC, issued the 14-page written order on this petition. The judgment noted the repeated arrest of the petitioner after her release was deemed an attempt to undermine the judicial process. it said the deputy commissioners of Lahore and Gujranwala had issued detention orders for the petitioner while she was already in jail. The court acknowledged the need for strict action against the deputy commissioners but refrained from immediate action as a lenient gesture.
Today instead of complying with the court orders, Sanam was arrested again. She was allegedly involved in creating a law-and-order disturbance and attacking Jinnah House – the Lahore Corps Commander’s house. Earlier, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) issued a release order for the PTI’s activist. The ATC issued release orders after the approval of the surety bonds in the case. She was also earlier arrested again outside Sargodha Jail. Police said she was wanted by the Gujranwala Cantonment Police in connection with a May 9 case. Aliya Hamza, another PTI leader, was also wanted by the Gujranwala Police in the same case. (By Rana Kashif)
