The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced significant declines during the fourth trading day of the week, with the benchmark KSE-100 index dropping by 935.15 points to reach 113,213.3 around 9:39 AM.
This decline followed a loss of 1,904.23 points, or 1.64%, in the previous session, which closed at 114,148.45.
After a brief recovery, the index showed a slight improvement, reaching 113,923.56 around 9:45 AM, though it still reflected a loss of 224.89 points, with trading volume rising to 21,577,724 shares.
Earlier in the morning, the KSE-100 index had peaked at 114,312.99, gaining 164.54 points shortly after the market opened.
By 10:15 AM, several companies within the KSE-100 index were trading in the red, including PGLC, which dropped by 9.99% to 21.09, and ENGROH, which fell by 4.00% to 261.50. On the other hand, stocks like JDWS saw gains, rising by 10.00% to 995.45.
As of 10:34 AM, the PSX further declined by 1,369.9 points to 112,778.55, reaching the lowest point of the day so far, with a trading volume of 100,105,890 shares.
