The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Tania Mallick, the head of women’s cricket, and Sohaib Sheikh, the director of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), had resigned from their positions in order to seek new possibilities.
Tania started working at the Gaddafi Stadium in October 2021, while Sohaib returned to the cricket organization 13 months ago after previously working there from 2016 to 2019.
According to PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, Sohaib and Mallick are “key members” of the board’s executive staff.
He stated that Tania Mallick and Sohaib Sheikh were important members of the PCB management team who significantly advanced the organization.
The PCB representative continued by praising Sohaib for being a member of the group that started the PSL in 2016.
“Sohaib was part of the initial group that launched the PSL in 2016, and successfully executed four seasons, and he returned to produce another high-quality tournament earlier this year,” Naseer stated.
“Tania made progress at the grassroots level to increase the number of players, working tirelessly to promote women’s cricket in Pakistan. Her efforts were acknowledged globally by the ICC, where she was one of the two Full Member representatives on the ICC Women’s Committee, in addition to the PCB’s continued support,” he continued.
Naseer said that the cricket board wishes “both Sohaib and Tania nothing but the best in their future endeavors” and “appreciates their hard work, dedication, and contributions.”
