Princess Kate Middleton moved to tears when she met a sixteen-year-old girl and her family at Windsor Castle.
The young girl was a talented photographer. She was courageously fighting against cancer and received devastating news that she has only six months to three years to live.
Kate, who has just finished her own chemotherapy treatment, connected deeply with the girl, whose inspiring journey profoundly affected her.
Broadcaster Lewis Oakley praised the meeting, saying, “It’s beautiful. She is back at work, but it is slightly sad as this poor girl has been given between six months and three years to live.”
He emphasized the importance of the encounter. He noted that the girl had the opportunity to take photographs and meet Kate, while Prince William found her story particularly inspiring.
Oakley suggested that the royal couple might engage more with similar causes in the cancer community.
Suzan Holder, another commentator, added that Prince William learned about the girl’s situation through the Air Ambulance service.
After their meeting, the Prince and Princess of Wales released a joint statement, “It was a pleasure to meet Liz at Windsor today. Her creativity and strength have inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us.”
