As Pakistan commemorated the 76th anniversary of the country’s founding on Wednesday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s leading beliefs and “hope” for the country’s progress.
President Zardari stressed in his address to the people the importance of Jinnah’s “unity, faith, and discipline” and asked them to adopt them as a guide for the nation’s progress.
PM Shehbaz urged the country to reaffirm its commitment to constructing Jinnah’s vision of a Pakistan where all citizens enjoy equality, justice, and peace.
Top Sindh officials visited Mazar-e-Quaid, the tomb of Quaid-e-Azam, in Karachi on Wednesday in remembrance of the anniversary of Jinnah’s death.
The representatives included Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, and Interior Minister Ziaul Hasan.
Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, Governor Kamran Tessori, and additional provincial ministers joined along.
In addition to the chief minister and the governor of Sindh laying a floral wreath at Jinnah’s tomb, the highest ranking authorities paid their homage.
The prime minister stated that the Quaid’s steadfast adherence to democratic, social justice, and equality ideals established the groundwork for a country in which all citizens may strive to prosper in spite of differences in cultural backgrounds.
“Our society is profoundly impacted by Jinnah’s focus on unity and religion, which serves as a constant reminder that Pakistan’s strength is found in its inclusivity and variety.”
He said, “As we pay tribute to his memory, we reaffirm our commitment to achieving the Quaid’s vision for Pakistan and confronting today’s issues with the resolute spirit of a great nation.”
“We are reminded of our obligation to the next generation as we honor the Quaid-e-Azam. It is our duty to inculcate in them the principles of honesty, diligence, and loyalty that Jinnah personified.”
