President Asif Ali Zardari discussed bilateral ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkiye delegation during Turkmen forum.
This meeting took place during international forum in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The forum was marked in the commemoration of the 300th birth anniversary of Magtymguly Faragi, a famous Turkmen philosopher and poet.
According to a press release from the President’s Office, Zardari and his counterpart Putin exchanged good wishes for the strong relationship between the countries.
“President Zardari gave a speech at the event. He highlighted the need for better regional connectivity and stronger cooperation among neighboring countries”, press release stated.
In an informal meeting with the speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmus, Zardari called for better railroad links between Pakistan and Turkiye. Zardari stressed the importance of enhancing trade between the countries to deepen bilateral ties.
President Zardari praised Turkiye as a true friend of Pakistan and a strong voice for the Muslim world. He lauded Turkiye’s stance on important issues.
Zardari also expressed concerns about the humanitarian crises in Palestine and Lebanon.
President also met with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Zardari recalled his previous meetings with the president’s father, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
This meeting with Turkiye delegation took place on the sidelines of the Ashgabat forum.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti were also present during the meeting.
