PTI founder Imran Khan said he would prefer jail for life over making compromise or deal with establishment, reiterating his party will not hold talks with the PPP to topple the PML-N government.
Both the PPP and the PML-N are the products of Form-47, he said while talking to journalists in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
Rumours are circulating that PTI is considering no-confidence motion against the Shehbaz Sharif government as it would become largest party in the National Assembly after the allocation of reserved seats to it following the Supreme Court’s decision. The PTI, however, needs support of other parties in the assembly for the success of the motion.
The PTI claimed the PML-N, the PPP and the MQM came to power through rigging in February 8 general elections and with the support of the country’s powerful military establishment.
Khan talked to journalists after hearing of the 190 million pounds corruption reference which the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has prepared against him and his wife Bushra Bibi.
PTI founding chairman said the fresh elections are the only solution to put the country on track. He said the PTI did not want power at the moment but transparent polls.
“I will prefer to stay in jail until the end of my life and would not make any compromise or deal,” he vowed, rejecting the rumours of deal with establishment.
He said the ban of the PTI would prove dangerous for the democracy and the country. The PTI main leadership, he said, is already in jail and the party is under siege.
He also criticised Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz for speaking against the Supreme Court judges, saying the PML-N always sought decision in its favour from the courts and started criticism against judges if the verdicts came against it.
In response to reports of imposition of emergency in the country, he said Pakistan is already under martial law.
Bushra Bibi:
Bushra Bibi levelled allegations against the Barrister Ali Zafar, the PTI leader, who she said did not respond to her calls and even failed to provide mattress to Imran Khan in jail. She said Ali Zafar visited jail under full protocol but could not arrange mattress for former prime minister Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. She also complained against the non-cooperation and discriminatory treatment of jail staff with her and Khan.
