Punjab is experiencing extremely high temperatures lately, therefore on Monday the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a heatwave alert for the entire province.
Punjab will continue to experience hot, dry weather till Eid ul Adha, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The agency attested to the intense heat that permeates the whole province, including Lahore.
It is predicted that the temperature will climb steadily, with a low temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius today in the province capital. Additionally, the weather department predicted that the temperature would rise to 46 degrees Celsius in the upcoming days.
Similarly, Sindh has had persistent heatwaves and the warmest May on record, with some cities seeing daily highs of up to 50 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature of the summer season so far was a scorching 52.5°C recorded on May 26 at the Mohenjo Daro meteorological station. Jacobabad, which attained 52 degrees Celsius, trailed closely after.
Lower Sindh was also hit by the heatwave, with temperatures reaching 48°C in Hyderabad, Thatta, and Badin, among other places.
