The Foreign Office (FO) said Monday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for an official visit in order to attend the 8th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII), which will take place in Riyadh from October 29 to 30.
The Saudi Crown Prince, Prime Minister HRH Mohammed bin Salman, and other high-ranking Saudi officials are anticipated to have significant bilateral discussions with the prime minister during the visit.
According to the FO, “the two sides will explore bilateral cooperation in the economic, energy, and defense domains and discuss economic and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
At the FII 8th Edition Conference, PM Shehbaz is also anticipated to interact with the leaders and business owners in attendance.
According to the FO statement, the Future Investment Initiative is a crucial forum for nations to demonstrate their economic might, attract international capital, and have discussions to create a sustainable future.
With the theme “Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow,” this year’s FII will concentrate on international investments meant to tackle pressing problems including artificial intelligence, robots, education, energy, space, banking, healthcare, and sustainability.
Key cabinet ministers would accompany PM Shehbaz on the visit, the foreign office said.
A high-ranking group of Saudi investors, headed by Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, came to Pakistan earlier this month on a three-day stay.
