PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that achieving “complete peace” is necessary to overcome the security challenges.
Terror attacks in Pakistan have increased since the outlawed TTP severed its truce with the government. Particularly in KP and Balochistan were it’s targets.
The Centre for Research and Security Studies conducted a detailed study on it. According to its annual security report said that 2024 was the deadliest year for Pakistan’s security personnel in ten years.
The study stated that 444 acts of terror were perpetrated countrywide; 685 security personnel lost their lives in these incidents.
While delivering a speech at the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) meeting in Islamabad, the Prime Minister of the country mentioned political stability to economic growth.
The prime minister asserted that political stability is imperative in the solution of the present security issues and boom to the economy.
“Security is a major challenge, and we cannot progress without eliminating terrorism,” he said. PM Shehbaz Sharif accepted the sacrifices made by law enforcing agencies, armed forces, and police in safeguarding the motherland. He highlighted the killing of people each day, calling it the murder of officers and troops in the war on terror.
“The nation must recognize this ultimate sacrifice must honor it, and it should consider the resurgence of terrorism. To defeat terrorism and to usher in peace, the prime minister appealed to one and all to work together. He called it a lesson and hailed the peace deal struck after three weeks of talks over Kurram.”
The 14-point deal prevents the use of arms in the war-torn region, brings to an end all land-related issues, and promises permanent peace.
Shehbaz Sharif called for perpetual peace and also warned against frequent relapses in situations like the Kurram incidents.
