Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has highlighted key developments in Pakistan’s national progress, including the revival of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Europe.
He announced that the first flight to Paris marked a milestone for the national carrier, following a challenging period.
Restrictions on PIA are gradually easing, and PM Shehbaz expressed optimism that flights to London would soon resume.
He also emphasized the significance of the newly established Pakistan-Iran trade corridor at Panjgur, stating that it would bolster legal trade while playing a vital role in combating smuggling.
In other updates, the prime minister shared that stability is returning to the Kurram region after recent unrest.
He noted that bunkers are being dismantled, and essential supplies such as food and medicine are being distributed, describing these efforts as encouraging steps toward peace.
PM Shehbaz urged all parties to cooperate in maintaining peace through dialogue and preventing future conflicts.
The prime minister further commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their ongoing operations against extremist elements.
According to the military’s media wing, 27 militants were neutralized during recent security operations in Waziristan.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a one-day visit to Karachi on Wednesday, engaging with the Sindh leadership and prominent business figures, as per state media reports.
Upon landing at Karachi airport, he was received by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
During his stay, the premier is set to visit the South Asia Pakistan Terminal at Karachi Port Trust and launch the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) Faceless Customs Assessment System, designed to enhance transparency in customs operations.
