ISLAMABAD: Underscoring brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), which are getting further stronger, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Thursday invited the Al-Jomaih Group to invest in Pakistan’s alternative energy sector.
“Pakistan greatly values relations with Saudia and welcomes its investment in the energy sector”, PM Kakar said while talking to a four-member delegation of Al-Jomaih.
Federal Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Energy Minister Muhammad Ali and relevant senior officers attended the meeting.

The delegation, led by the Al-Jomaih Group head Sheikh Abdulaziz Hammad, discussed bilateral relations with the premier, which are set to scale new heights.
It is to be noted that the Al-Jomaih Group has made a huge investment in the Karachi Electric (K-Electric).
Lauded K-Electric strategy to invest in the alternative energy sector, PM Kakar emphasized that it would help reduce the power tariff, which greatly benefit the consumers. The prime minister expressed the hope that the K-Electric would further improve its infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted power supply to domestic and industrial consumers.
On the occasion, the Al-Jomaih Group head thanked the prime minister and the government team for resolving the longstanding issues faced by the company.
Apprising the prime minister of the company’s 1,500 megawatt projects, the delegation informed the prime minister that the projects would feature the usage of local resources and alternative energy.
PM condoles demise or ex-NA speaker Elahi Bux Soomro
Meanwhile, Caretaker PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar expressed his deep grief over the sad demise of renowned politician and former National Assembly Speaker Elahi Bux Soomro. “Elahi Bux Soomro was a seasoned politician. His services for Pakistan’s politics and parliament will always be remembered,” he remarked in is condolence message.
The prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family.
