A high-level meeting of the Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, concluded on Friday with a firm commitment to counter the resurgence of terrorism in the country.
Held at the Prime Minister’s House, the session began shortly after its scheduled start at 11 am. Senior cabinet members, military leaders, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan were among the attendees.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi provided a detailed overview of the nation’s security challenges, and critical decisions are anticipated in response to the growing threats.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently voiced concerns about the re-emergence of terrorism, warning of its potential to derail the country’s fragile economic recovery.
He emphasized that tragedies like the Parachinar incident must not be allowed to recur.
