Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for global attention to resolve Kashmir dispute, stating that Kashmiris should have the right to decide their own future.
In a message for Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on February 5, PM assures that Pakistan will always stand by Kashmir in their struggle for justice.
Paying tribute to the Kashmiri people firm resolution for their rights, PM stated that Pakistan will go to any length to support the liberty of the Kashmiri people.
Shehbaz emphasized that for lasting peace in South Asia, the international community must pressure India to allow the Kashmiri people to determine their own future. “True peace cannot be achieved by suppressing the legitimate desires of the local population of Kashmir”, PM stressed.
He added that Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir remains one of the world’s most militarized regions, with Kashmiris living in constant fear and intimidation.
“Sadly, despite the passage of 78 years the Kashmiri people are still batteling for their rights”, PM noted.
President Asif Ali Zardari also noted his words on account of Kashmir day.
“Pakistan will always support Kashmir, no matter what the circumstances are”, president stated.
Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, in his message for Kashmir Day, stated that Kashmir Solidarity Day is a moment to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to standing by Kashmir in their fight for self-determination.
