Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is scheduled to restart its flights to Paris next month and to the UK on August 14, marking the end of a four-year break. This is great news for Pakistanis living in the UK and around Europe, as reported by local media.
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is anticipated to give approval to the airline gradually over the current month, according to PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez.
Hafeez said that PIA will give the restart of airline operations in Paris first priority after obtaining consent from the Agency. “August 14 is when the direct flight to London is expected to start,” he said. In addition, he stated that the airline is accelerating 777 aircraft maintenance in preparation for the flying resume.
According to Hafeez, PIA now has seven 777 aircraft in service, and two more are scheduled to go into service in the next two months.
A general manager of PIA stated that the airline will greatly improve its flight operations to Europe now that it has nine 777 aircraft in service. Hafeez also mentioned the 97 nations with whom Pakistan now has air service agreements.
It’s important to remember that direct flights were discontinued in 2020 between Pakistan and the UK.
