A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant stood missing in Canada thus brought the total number to 14 so far.
The missing staff of the national flag carrier reveals that all it is going without any hindrance. The latest case is about Noor Sher– one of the 16-member flight attendant team boarded on PK 781 headed from Pakistan to Toronto. The staff member’s disappearance was noticed when he didn’t report back on his scheduled time. So far 14 male and female PIA staff members have gone missing in Toronto – Canada. According to the reports the missing attendants have applied for asylum in Canada.
Earlier a female attendant who is in detention in Toronto, had been posted on the Toronto flight more than ten times. Despite specific instructions against her assignment on the Toronto flight, she was frequently rostered for duty. There has been no significant progress in the ongoing investigation against those who didn’t return.
The reports said that both the aviation ministry and the national airline have established committees to conduct investigations. The PIA has terminated all those flight attendants who stood missing. Departmental action has also been initiated against Noor Sher. Meanwhile the inquiry reports are still awaited.
It is important to note that earlier the Interior Ministry has issued a directive for to block the national identity of those seeking asylum in any country. It has also said for not to issue Pakistani passports to those seeking asylum and those who have been granted asylum in any other country. A very important aspect of such incidents is that it is the Canada where all the staff members of the PIA stood missing finding it the most suitable place for them. Now what arrangements the PIA and other relevant authorities take in this regard that help stop this practice in future is a question need to be addressed.
