PIA flight PK-222, heading from Dubai to Multan, encountered a serious problem when the aircraft’s tires burst during its takeoff.
The flight was carrying 172 passengers. Fortunately, the airline safely transferred all 172 passengers to the lounge after the incident.
A PIA spokesperson reported that while the plane prepared for takeoff, the crew received a warning about an engine malfunction. Flight captain quickly engaged the emergency braking system, successfully stopping the aircraft without causing any injuries.
Engineering personnel from Karachi will travel to Dubai on a night flight to address the technical issue. Meanwhile, some passengers will board flight PK-204 from Dubai to Lahore tonight. Others will take a different PIA flight from Sharjah to Multan.
