Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostess and a couple were arrested at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport for attempting to smuggle over 65 high-end mobile phones into the country.
The arrests occurred during two separate operations conducted by Customs officials on flights arriving from Dubai.
In the first case, Nadia Batool, a PIA air hostess, was caught trying to smuggle 30 mobile phones concealed on her body.
The value of the phones is estimated to be over Rs10 million, according to Customs sources.
In another operation, a couple, Arshad and Fariha, arriving on a different Dubai flight, were found with 37 mobile phones taped to their bodies.
Customs officers immediately arrested them and confiscated the devices.
Authorities have initiated an investigation, and all three individuals remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
