During the next weekly review in December 2024, the federal government is anticipated to update the pricing of petrol and diesel in Pakistan.
According to local media reports, the revised price of petrol will go into effect from December 1 to December 15 and will be revealed on the evening of November 30.
The price of petrol is predicted to increase by PKR 3.15 per liter, diesel by PKR 3.20 per liter, along with kerosene oil by PKR 4 per liter, according to sources.
One of the main reasons for the possible increase has been identified is the volatility of crude oil prices worldwide.
The final fuel price decision will be made on November 30.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will confer before the new tariffs are revealed. The Ministry of Petroleum is now drafting suggestions for the Ministry of Finance.
The current prices for gasoline, high-speed diesel, light diesel oil, and kerosene are PKR 248.38, 255.14, 147.51, and 161.54 a liter, respectively.
As local markets continue to be impacted by the volatility of the global oil price, the forecasted changes are expected to affect both consumers and industry.
