The federal government has announced a hike in fuel prices, with petrol seeing an increase of Rs3.47 per litre, effective from January 16.
A notification from the Finance Division revealed that the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been adjusted, rising by Rs2.61 per litre to a new rate of Rs260.95, up from the previous Rs258.34.
The revision was attributed to recent changes in international oil prices, as calculated by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the notification added.
