Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the prominent figure and central president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has made the crucial decision to participate in the forthcoming by-elections.
The decision was made public during a hearing at the Special Central Court in Lahore, which was convened to address the ongoing money laundering case against Pervez Elahi. Present at the hearing, the police presented Pervez Elahi before the court.
During the proceedings, Pervez Elahi’s legal counsel formally requested permission from the judge for his client to affix his signature on the necessary nomination papers. The lawyer emphasized the need for this action to proceed, underlining that all meetings with Elahi in detention are subject to strict restrictions.
Subsequently, Pervez Elahi proceeded to formally file the required paperwork in the courtroom, indicating his intention to contest the upcoming by-election.
Pervaiz Elahi to run for PP-32
It has been confirmed that Pervez Elahi intends to contest from the provincial constituency PP-32 in Gujrat. This development comes in light of the vacant seat left by the elevation of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, to the position of Member of the National Assembly (MNA).
Following his appearance at the FIA court, Pervez Elahi engaged in a conversation with journalists, where he expressed his viewpoints on a range of pertinent issues.
Elahi criticized the restrictions imposed on his jail meetings, labeling them as unconstitutional measures. He accused the incumbent PTI government of deceiving the public by undermining their electoral mandate. Expressing steadfast confidence, Elahi asserted that those responsible for electoral fraud would ultimately be held accountable for their actions.

He urged those in power to fear the consequences of their actions, warning that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is pursuing a revengeful agenda rather than going for solution.
Elahi declared that the ongoing protests across the nation are a representation of the people’s demand for justice. He asserted Tehreek-e-Insaf’s unwavering commitment to staging nationwide demonstrations until the rightful electoral mandate is restored.
