Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi halted the team’s announcement on Friday for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Reports claim that Mohsin Naqvi protested over the selection method and told the selectors not to reveal the team until every step had been taken.
According to the media, which cited unidentified sources, “the PCB chief expressed his displeasure with the selectors for not holding meetings to discuss the players but didn’t object to the names of the players.”
They claim that because Mohsin Naqvi was not given the meeting minutes during which he raised the issue, he has written to the selection committee for a response.
According to the reports, following fulfillment of qualifications, the T20 World Cup team would be unveiled within the next two to three hours.
It is significant to remember that the board has finalized the player names and that May 25 is the deadline for revealing the roster for the major ICC tournament.
