Recently Cheryl expressed her grief over Payne’s accidental death. She also requested media to consider their seven-year-old son, Bear, who could eventually see the reports.
Cheryl took to Instagram to appeal media for incident coverage. “As I try to navigate this heartbreaking loss and cope with my own grief during this incredibly difficult time, I kindly ask everyone to remember that we have lost a human being,” she wrote.
She added, “What troubles me most is knowing that one day Bear will be able to access the terrible reports and media exploitation we’ve witnessed over the past two days. It breaks my heart even more that I can’t shield him from this in the future.”
“Allow Liam the small dignity he has left in death so that he can finally rest in peace,” Cheryl pleaded with people.
Payne’s current girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, also shared her heartbreaking feelings on Instagram, saying that she will continue to love Payne for the rest of her life.
