The federal government of Pakistan has revised the passport fee structure, with new rates set to take effect from March 7, 2024.
The adjustments include an increase in fees for various passport categories.
Revised Passport Fee
For a 36-page passport with a validity period of 5 years, the fee has been increased from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4500, while the urgent fee has been raised from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 7500.
Similarly, for a 10-year validity period, the normal passport fee has been raised from Rs. 4500 to Rs. 6700, while its urgent fee has been increased from Rs. 7500 to Rs. 11,200.
The 72-page passport will now cost Rs. 8200 for a 5-year normal validity and Rs. 13,500 for an urgent fee. The 100-page passport for a 10-year normal validity will have a fee of Rs. 12,400, and its urgent fee will be Rs. 20,200.
The changes in the passport fee structure are aimed at maintaining the efficiency and quality of passport services provided to citizens. The increased fees will contribute to covering the expenses related to the production, processing, and delivery of passports, ensuring a streamlined and reliable passport issuance process.
The federal government emphasizes the importance of these adjustments to sustain the quality and efficiency of passport services while meeting the growing demands and challenges in passport administration. Citizens are encouraged to stay informed about the revised fee structure and plan their passport-related transactions accordingly.
