Parco has announced for temporary shut down for maintenance purpose starting on October 10.
The news of Parco closure has been confirmed by a spokesperson from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
OGRA has confirmed that emergency plans are have been made to fulfill the demand for petrol during this maintenance period.
Authorities stated that this scheduled maintenance is necessary to ensure the refinery operates efficiently. The last maintenance shutdown for Parco occurred in 2020.
Officials reported that despite of Parco closure, there will be no shortage of petroleum products in the country . Parco has got permission from the Ministry of Energy for this shutdown for maintenance work.
Sparco officials stated that the oil supply will remain unaffected during the shutdown period.
Pakistan import about 70% of the petrol consumed in the country from foreign countries.
