Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik feels deeply impressed by the unconditional love of Pakistanis. While addressing an event in Rawalpindi, Naik expressed his gratitude, “I thank Allah for my successful visit to Pakistan. I received 10 times more love and respect than I expected; the government went above and beyond, fulfilling my longtime wish. I toured hundreds of places over 30 years, but nothing matched the love and respect here.”
He added, “Usury (interest) is a serious sin in Islam, and certain groups largely control it.” He urged removing usury from Islamic society, comparing it to a great insult.
He noted that many of the world’s top companies don’t rely on loans. And suggested that scholars could guide Islamic banks as trustworthy options.
He said some banks follow Islamic principles by up to 80% or even 90%.
Dr. Naik also noted that standing up for truth often brings criticism, and those who stand for what’s right may make enemies. The Holy Quran reminds us to seek forgiveness if we’re wrong and to stay true despite criticism.
He added that Muslims are facing hard times, which he sees as a test from Allah, with Palestinians enduring a great trial. According to the Quran, Muslims will eventually prevail before the Day of Judgment.
Dr. Naik emphasized that Pakistan, founded in the name of Islam, needs strong ties between scholars and leaders. He urged both to work closely for the country’s progress, keeping a focus on the Hereafter.
Commenting on Palestine, he encouraged people to observe their leaders’ actions carefully.
