However, in November 2024, explicit videos allegedly featuring her surfaced online. Rehman denied the authenticity of these videos, claiming they were doctored and circulated by hackers. The viral nature of the scandal forced her to deactivate her social media accounts, stating that the public backlash was overwhelming.
Imsha Rehman’s First Public Statement
On January 30, 2025, Rehman appeared in an interview with Nukta Pakistan, addressing the scandal for the first time. Wearing a black mask and hood to conceal her identity, she described the emotional toll of the situation.
“When I saw the video, it felt like my life was over. I can’t go to university or face people. I have been receiving death threats every day,” she revealed.
Legal Action and FIA’s Investigation
Rather than addressing the matter on social media, Rehman took the legal route, filing a complaint with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). She emphasized that those who manipulate digital content for entertainment fail to realize its real-life consequences.
“People think it’s fun to create fake videos, but they don’t understand how it destroys lives,” she said.
The FIA Cyber Crime Wing launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of Abdul Aziz from Gujranwala, who allegedly created and shared the fabricated video. During interrogation, Aziz claimed he had made the video as a meme. Authorities have yet to release further details.
