A Pakistani national student Dania Zaheer was hit by a reckless driver in Texas, United States, who ran away after leaving her injured on the road.
Dania Zaheer, who was injured in the collision and is in critical condition, will have surgery in Houston today.
“The driver didn’t even check to make sure I was still alive. “Every dream I had was crushed by this accident,” Zaheer remarked.
Zaheer traveled from Pakistan to Houston, Texas, to seek a master’s degree in business administration, according to ABC13, a television station headquartered in Houston.
“I have a damaged pelvis, fractured arm, smashed femur, damaged hip, skull injuries, a split eye socket, and water in my lungs, which makes it impossible to breathe,” she added, explaining her injuries.
The culprit of the hit-and-run, however, remains unknown to the Houston Police Department. Although they had a witness who was present when it happened, they were unable to identify the automobile or the culprit.
Zaheer was checked on in the hospital by former federal minister Babar Ghauri and Pakistan’s consul general, Aftab Chaudhary.
