The Pakistani rupee surged against the US dollar in the interbank market. The dollar stood at Rs277.60 price after a decrease of nine paisas on Wednesday.
The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, also voiced optimism regarding Pakistan’s economic recovery.
The director praised the Pakistani government’s successful execution of the $7 billion IMF loan program.
Georgieva highlighted that Pakistan’s economy is gaining momentum, with growth indicators improving and inflation showing a downward trend.
She praised the changes made, noting their significance in stabilizing the economy and fostering sustainable growth.
This increase in the local market reflects broader economic improvements.
