Pakistan won the bronze medal for third place in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy on Tuesday against South Korea at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, China.
Hannan Shahid and Sufyan Khan each scored two goals, while Roman Khan scored one as Pakistan triumphed 5-2.
The national team’s heartbreaking penalty shootout loss to China in the semi-final the day before showed how talented and determined both groups were.
The exciting game finished in a 1-1 tie in regulation time. China scored the game’s opening goal in the second quarter, and Ahmed Nadeem of Pakistan tied the score in the third to force a deciding penalty shootout.
But the opponents’ victory against Pakistan in the penalty shootout allowed them to advance to the championship game. They hadn’t previously made it this far into the finals.
