More intermittent monsoon rains are expected in Pakistan from July 22 onward.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), significant monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will likely penetrate the upper parts of the country from Monday (tomorrow).
Under these conditions, countrywide monsoon rains are expected to in the next week with occasional gaps.
Punjab/Islamabad: Heavy rains are predicted in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Mianwali from July 22 to July 25.
Rains are predicted from July 23 to July 24 in southern parts of Punjab with occasional gaps. Met office stated rains will fall in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Layyah.
Rains will likely fall from July 22 to July 24, in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Met office predicted hot weather in various Balochistan districts but rains are expected in Khuzdar, Kalat, Lasbella, Awaran, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musa Khel, Shirani, Kohlu, Harnai, Naseerabad and Jaffarabad from July 23 and July 24.
As per weather forecast, Sindh’s cities Mithi, Sanghar, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Larkana and Dadu will witness rains and thunderstorm on July 23 and July 24.
Kashmir: Rain and gusty winds are predicted in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur and Neelum Valley from July 21 to July 27.
Gilgit-Baltistan will witness partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions but rains are likely fall in Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar from July 22 to July 27.
Met office says rains may generate flash flooding in local nullahs and could cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Landslides in hilly areas could create traffic problems. Growers are advised to manage their activities keeping in view the weather forecast.
