The squad for Pakistan’s upcoming white-ball series against Australia are anticipated to be revealed the following week, and according to reports, Mohammad Rizwan has been proposed for the captaincy.
While the selection committee believes that Rizwan should be given the captaincy, sources say that Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), would make the ultimate decision on this matter after consulting with selectors and other authorities.
The fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain, who hasn’t participated in an ODI since 2023, is also probably going to return. With impressive performances in the most recent President’s Cup and Champions Cup, Hasnain won over selectors.
Haseebullah, a wicketkeeper-batsman, and Aamir Jamal, an all-rounder, are also being considered for the Australian white-ball series team.
The second ODI between the two teams will take place at Adelaide Oval on November 8 and Perth Stadium on November 10.
The Green Shirts will play the Kangaroos in three Twenty20 matches from November 14 to 18 following the completion of the ODI series.
The first Twenty20 match will take place at The Gabba in Brisbane on November 14, the second at SCG in Sydney on November 16, and the third and final at Bellerive Oval in Hobart on November 18.
Cricket Australia announced a 14-man team earlier this week for the next One Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, which will begin on November 4 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
