In his first meeting as head of the Steering Committee on Electric Vehicle, Minister of Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain made the decision on Tuesday to complete the National Electric Vehicle policy in less than a month.
To guarantee a sustainable transportation system for the nation, the policy aims to encourage domestic manufacture and the early adoption of EVs, including new energy vehicles (NEVs).
Senior authorities from pertinent ministries and departments were present at the meeting, including with Secretary of Industries and Production Saif Anjum and Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari.
While presiding over the meeting, the minister emphasized that the new policy need to encourage energy efficiency and the car industry’s shift to cleaner technology.
Every stakeholder gave a presentation of their ideas throughout the meeting. The following meeting is set for a subsequent week.
