Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, said that the Green Shirts’ team for the forthcoming home series against New Zealand will be announced on April 9, rather than April 8, as was previously anticipated.
The Black Caps and the national team will play five Twenty20 international matches starting on April 18; three of those matches will take place in Rawalpindi, while the other two will take place in Lahore. The series will conclude on April 27.
The 18-member team will be revealed by the selectors during a press conference, according to reports, with the T20I squad members scheduled to travel to Islamabad on April 14.
Imad Wasim and Mohammed Amir are two players who, according to the reports, are anticipated to be on the national team. Both players withdrew their retirements from international cricket following talks with the PCB.
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Zaman Khan, Agha Salman, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, and Abbas Afridi are among the other players who are probably going to make the squad.
The reports also stated that Usama Mir or Abrar Ahmed will be a part of the Men in Green’s spinner lineup. In the meanwhile, Haris Rauf’s injury makes it doubtful that he will play for the national team.
The PCB chairman has stated that Usman Khan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would be included in the team due to his outstanding performance in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9).
