The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked foreign ambassadors to restrict their travel during the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Islamabad, which is set for October 15–16.
The ministry asked ambassadors to follow the traffic plans that are implemented by local authorities and stay inside the Red Zone and Diplomatic Enclave in an official statement.
The warning is a component of the tighter security protocols put in place to protect SCO conference attendees. A comprehensive security strategy for the event was approved in a high-level conference presided over by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
To ensure tight security during the summit, more members of the Pakistan Army, the Rangers team, Frontier Corps (FC), and Punjab Police would be sent in.
Leading regional powers including China, India, Russia, and Pakistan are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a well-known economic and security partnership.
The organization, which was established to promote collaboration among member governments, has expanded to become one of the world’s largest trans-regional associations.
The next conference aims to tackle significant regional issues and promote economic cooperation among participating nations.
