Today marks the 147th birth anniversary of the famous Pakistani poet-philosopher Dr. Allama Iqbal. Pakistan celebrates the day with devotion and respect across the country.
The thinker of Pakistan Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot.

The Poet of East Dr. Iqbal was born in Sialkot and received his primary education in his native city and Lahore.
The Poet received his bachelor’s degree from Great Britain in 1905 and later studied for his PhD in Philosophy in Germany.
After returning home in 1910, through his poetry Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, awakened the intellectually and politically fragmented Muslims from their slumber.
Dr. Iqbal is not only famous in the East, West also admire his poetry and philosophy. Even a street in New York was renamed “Allama Iqbal” after him.
One of Allama Iqbal’s greatest political contributions was the conception of the idea of Pakistan, which eventually became the foundation for the nation’s creation.
His poetry ignited a renewed spirit among the Muslims of India, and he placed great hope in the youth, referring to them with titles like Shaheen (Falcon) and Eagle.
Some of his renowned poetry collections include Bang-e-Dara, Zabur-e-Ajam, Bal-e-Jibril, Zarb-e-Kalim, Javaid Nama, and Payam-e-Mashriq.
Allama Iqbal, known as the “Visionary of Pakistan,” passed away in Lahore on April 21, 1938, and rests beside the Badshahi Mosque.
